Final Fantasy XIII has managed to shift fully 1 million copies in the US alone in its first week on sale, making it the fastest selling Final Fantasy game so far.

If nothing else, it is a very lovely game...
While most of the Final Fantasy series has been exclusive to one console or another, it’s interesting to see how well Final Fantasy XIII has performed, especially given the fact that that it released for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 simultaneously. Indeed, given the fact that so many have said that platform-exclusive games (other than first-party titles) would die out gradually over the course of this and next console generation, it’s very interesting indeed that Final Fantasy XIII has done so well for itself.

Well this is confidence for ya. Final Fantasy XIII battle director (what a job title) Yuji Abe says Square Enix’s epic action-roleplaying game won’t be getting downloadable content (DLC) after release because it’s already “the complete package.”

Final Fantasy XIII is all that and a bag of chips according to Square Enix.
In an interview with Sony social media specialist Chris Morrell – posted to the official PlayStation blog – Abe responded to questions about rumors of excised content, and its possible return in the form of downloadable expansions or extensions. “Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100% enjoyable,” said Abe, calling the game as it stands a “complete package” and confirming Final Fantasy XIII publisher Square Enix has no plans to release DLC “at this time.”

It seems that Square Enix is to bring the original Final Fantasy, along with Final Fantasy II, to Apple’s App Store for its iPhone and iPod Touch.

Word comes from SiloconEra about the port, which for some reason everyone seems to be in a rush to point out will boast updated controls to better fit the touch-sensitivity of the devices it’ll see release on. For now though, there’s precious little to know other than that Square Enix intends to rerelease the games through Apple’s mobile app shop.
