It seems that the top three most reliable brands in computing at the moment are Apple, Asus and Lenovo, in that order, according to data obtained by Rescuecom.
Rescuecom released the data in its Computer Reliability Report, with which it claims to give factual, unbiased evidence to determine the general reliability of a machine (or brand of machines) by means of a breakdown of various tech support needs, including data recovery, virus removal, wired and wireless networking issues. It’s a curious set of results, but the top five manufacturers will likely be of some interest to those of you reading.
The top five most reliable PC manufacturers, according to Rescuecom’s results, are:
1. Apple
2. Asus
3. IBM/Lenovo
4. Toshiba
5. HP/Compaq
It’s an interesting list, but it seems like that many will have focused on the fact that Apple has managed to grab the top spot, given that it’s a platform so often discriminated against (and let’s face it, Mac fanboys will love the gloating point). In actuality though, the fact that Asus has managed to grab the number two spot.
Asus had already been tipped by industry analysts as a growing brand with a positive image that could very well gain a lot of recognition over the course of 2009 and 2010. If its results in Rescuecom’s analysis are anything to go by then it seems reasonable to assume that consumer satisfaction with Asus products remains high, which could very well act to confirm the predictions, seeing the company go from strength to strength.
At the very least, it’s excellent publicity for Asus.
If you’d like to read more statistics on other manufacturers as well as those above, you should check out the full study over at Rescuecom‘s page.

For a start this only take the US into account, also most of this has nothing to do with reliability at all. How can a manufacturer be blamed if a computer gets a virus or a user is unable to setup a wireless network…
Also look at their website… it’s something out of 1990…
