Details of LG’s upcoming ‘superphone’ have started to leak out, including some hints at the device’s specifications, and they paint a very interesting picture indeed.

LG really hasn't done too much with Android until now... so we're curious to see this one
When Google released the Nexus One, it termed the device a ‘superphone’ rather than the conventional ‘smartphone,’ doubtless to draw a little more attention to the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. With that in mind, in the light of the leaked stats obtained by AndroidGuys, it seems as though it’d be a mistake to call LG’s upcoming Android device anything else, considering its resemblance to the Google device.
LG’s new device, which boasts the very exciting name of LU2300, boasts the same Snapdragon processor as the Nexus One and the HTC Desire, and also runs the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 2.1. Aside from all that, it also boasts a 3.5” AMOLED display, with a resolution of 800×480. It’s also got the usual combo of WiFi and GPS, and a 5-megapixel camera rounds the whole thing out.
Where it really differs from the Nexus One though, is in the physical keyboard, reminiscent of Motorola’s Droid, though the keys look just a little smoother. Indeed, physical keyboards seem to be appearing on fewer and fewer Android devices, so it’s nice to see that LG will be offering a device with one.
Of course, the big question for many will be if, and when, we can expect to see LG’s upcoming Android device hit in Europe, and the truth is that for now there’s no word on whether or not it’ll ever be available outside South Korea. Certainly though, given its specifications, it’s something we’d expect to see turn up in one form or another on this side of the world.
