Teen Safe Computing Internship

Posted on 18 March 2010 by Komplettie in News

One of the most interesting projects Komplett has been involved in over the past number of months has been our partnership with ChildWatch, who do some excellent work in the arena of teen and child safety online. In conjunction with them we’ve run the Teen Safe Computing initiative which has involved a series of free seminars on internet threats and safety at a number of secondary schools across Ireland.

As we’ve an appetite to step up our work with the organisation, we’re looking to take on board some interns to work on a variety of projects associated with Teen Safe Computing. Full details can be found over on jobs.ie, though you’ll be pleased to know this will be a fast paced project (no tea making involved, we promise) that will give the successful applicants a chance to learn about the topic from the foremost expert on this issue in the country, ChildWatch’s Pat McKenna.

Pat, of course, is the man behind the recent, highly praised, Barnardos report entitled ‘Three Hazards – Child Protection In The Electronic Age’. Those with an interest in internet security would certainly fit the bill and if this something you feel might suit you, or indeed if this might suit someone you know, the full details are, once again, over at jobs.ie and we’re waiting to hear from you.

Good stuff guys. I would imagine there is a gaming angle to be had with all of this given the prolifiration of online games and the social interaction that goes with them.
