Many of you may have heard about the emergence of Toprice.ie, a site which aims to be the first point of contact for customers looking to make a purchase online. They want to, in their words, be “a door to a virtual one-stop-shop, stocking everything Irish e-commerce has to offer”.

We beat our competitors on price for the Samsung N130 with a price of €267.89.

With this in mind, they have just released their Electronics Consumer Price Report for February 2010 and flicking through the pages of the report you’ll see pretty clearly what we’ve known for a while, namely Komplett rocks when it comes to prices (cue celebration dance in the office).

Seriously, in a country overstuffed with prices that make zero sense (hello airport sandwiches, I’m talking to you) it’s great that someone like ToPrice.ie is getting out there and telling people where to get a bargain or three, and in fact why not make that five as we came out top in five sections of the report and the details of these nicely priced products – including the Samsung N130 netbook, Samsung 46” UE46B6000 TV and Creative Giga Works T40 II Series speakers are below.

Says ToPrice.ie, “Products we have picked for this report are a representative sample of ranges stocked by Irish retail stores and e-shops shipping to the Republic of Ireland. All prices collected were given in Euros. The report shows that it pays off to ‘shop around’ – some of the price differences we have recorded while preparing this report are quite remarkable. On average, online shoppers can expect to save 12.35% or €40.51 on an item of their choice.”

Shipping is not very expensive, they point out, before giving some kudos to ourselves for Komplett’s dedicated pick-up points for customers; allowing orders to be placed online, but customers pay and receive their purchases at the pick-up point, free of any shipping charges.
