Having announced their existence in the middle of last month, Acer has revealed that its new all-in-one models with multi-touch displays – the Acer Aspire Z5710 and the Acer Aspire Z5700 – will be available here and in the UK on 1 August.
The desktop all-in-ones come with a choice of Intel processors i3, i5, or i7 with the Z5710, and should be perfectly capable of HD movie watching and 3D gaming due to up to 8GB of RAM, 2TB maximum storage (with an optional 160GB SSD) and integrated graphics via an Intel GPU on the Z5700. There’s also a choice of either Nvidia’s GeForce G210M or GT240M with the Z5710.
Notes an official statement: “Characterized by its sophisticated design, a spacious 58.4 cm (23”) display and grand multimedia capabilities, the Aspire Z5710 and Z5700 represent a current revolution in the world of PCs and are engineered to maximize the touch screen capabilities enabled by the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
“Users no longer have to be limited by keyboard and mouse controls: multi-touch functionality offers an easier and more intuitive way to access and interact with a PC, bridging the gap that still many users perceive when confronted with technology.”
The PR blusters continues with the message that new Aspire Z5710 and Z5700 are not just pretty faces, but “true communication and entertainment hubs for your digital lifestyle”.
With a slot-in optical drive, multi-in-one card reader, HDMI port and optional TV-tuner they can “bring together all the facets of your digital life, from movies to games, from TV to pictures”. Going for the jugular, Acer adds, “the new Aspires truly engage all your senses!”
That’s Acer’s exclamation mark, not ours. No word on exact pricing yet unfortunately.
